Two goals from veteran striker Matthew Lowe rounded off a win that was set up by a man-of-the-match performance in the Oxford goal by Alexander Hill, who produced one memorable save to deny Cambridge striker Adams. There was time at the end of the match for captain Arran Yentob to round off a season in which he had hardly played due to serious injury by coming off the bench to earn his blue.
